ABOUT ME

Annika.JPG

I am qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor mainly using a person-centred approach. I am a registered member of British association for counselling and psychotherapy (MBACP).

My role as a counsellor is to offer you a safe, confidential and trusting counselling relationship which supports you to explore either issues from the past or present. Counselling may not take those issues away, but is there to help you understand and find way of coping.

I am originally from Finland and my multicultural background means that I know how it can feel to be different, even rootless or not knowing for sure where you belong.

I truly believe in the power of nature and the outdoors in improving our mental health. After initial sessions, I can offer walking therapy.

I am passionate about mental health within the workplace and part of my private practice is to offer workplace and work-related counselling. I have 20 years experience working in sales management.

MY EXPERIENCE

I have attained Certificate in counselling skills and Diploma in Therapeutic counselling. I am currently working towards BACP accreditation.

Prior to starting my own private practice, I have counselled adults at GP practice (NHS) and for a disability charity.

As part of my training and continuous professional development (CPD) some of the courses I have completed so far are:

  • Online and telephone counselling training

  • Safeguarding children

  • Safeguarding adults

  • Safeguarding and managing risk through digital media

  • Creative arts practice level 1

  • Creative techniques
